While you are enrolled as a full-time student,Ìýyou will be exempt from paying council tax.Ìý

If you are sent a reminder from the councilÌýand need to provide evidence that you are a student, you can print your free Council Tax Exemption Certificate from Ìýby selecting the certificateÌýunder 'My Documents'. You should always check your eligibility for exemption, and how toÌýadviseÌýof your exemption,Ìýon the website for the council your property is located in.

If your certificate does not display in myHub, or if you have interrupted orÌýsuspendedÌýyour studies,Ìýcontact Ìýto create a certificate for you - please remember to provide your student reference number and your full name to help the team deal with your enquiry as quickly as possible.Ìý

Finishing or interrupting your studies?

Keep in mind that you are only exempt from paying council tax until the end date of yourÌýcurrent academic year.ÌýIf you are withdrawing from one course, for example at the end of June, and starting a new course in September, your Council Tax Exemption Certificate will not cover the period between.ÌýFurther guidance can be found on the Ìý- under the 'Evidence you need to provide' section.
