Tickets are now on sale for one of the UK’s largest festivals of visual effects, animation and games. 

Now in its twelfth year, BFX returns to Bournemouth from 28 October to 2 November. 

As visual effects become even more lifelike and play an ever-increasing part in TV and film production, the organisers believe the is a must-attend event for anyone with an interest in the creative sectors.   

The festival includes a three-day speaker series, featuring talks from the artists behind successful movies such as Poor Things, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Inside Out 2, and a chance for attendees to try putting their own effects together at hands-on masterclasses with industry legends like Victor Perex and Nedy Acet.

It will also feature film screenings, a family day and a recruitment fair. 

Organised annually by ÃÛÌÒAV’s National Centre for Computer Animation, one of the world's leading specialist institutions, BFX Festival has become a well-established date in the calendar for the likes of Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic, Double Negative and more.

Big players in the industry come to Bournemouth to rub shoulders with the next generation of artists. Amongst this year’s guests is Ian Comley who was nominated for a BAFTA and an Oscar this year for his visual effects work on The Creator.

"It's a real privilege to get to host an event of this stature, " said Dr Oleg Fryazinov, the BFX Festival Director. "Each year we are visited by film, animation, and visual effects students from universities and colleges all over the UK -- and increasingly from all over the world. We also welcome people from all walks of life with an interest in this area, whether they are looking for a career change, or just want to build up skills for making their own videos at home. They all get the chance to come here and learn from some of the best artists in the business."
