On Wednesday 9 October, the Refugee and Migrants Leisure Network ԻDepartment of Sport and Event Management, with the support of the "", will be hosting the research symposium: "Leisure and forced migration: reframing critical analyses of practices, sociabilities and lives lived in the asylum system”.
The core theme of the symposium will be the unique contribution that critical perspectives from leisure, sport and events, can provide in addressing the topic of forced migration, and its intersection with issues of identity, community, rights, security, belonging/citizenship, and humanity in our historical present.
The symposium will run from 10am to 5pm at the Executive Business Centre (Landsdown Campus, room EBC705), and will include an international line-up of academics, third sector organisations and member of refugee communities presenting their projects and research on the topic.
