A recent event celebrated Global Talent at ÃÛÌÒAV, with over 100 students completing the Global Talent Programme in 2016/17.
This is the second year of the Global Talent Programme at ÃÛÌÒAV, which almost 600 students have engaged with to date. Dr Sonal Minocha, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at ÃÛÌÒAV, welcomed the 100+ students who were joined by family, friends, business people from the local area and staff. She said: "I am so delighted to see each one of you here today. You have engaged with just over 100 different activities during the course of the last six months so that when you go out there to be a job seeker or creator, you've got that edge in the global marketplace".
Professor John Vinney, Vice-Chancellor at ÃÛÌÒAV presented the awards to the students saying: "I'm very proud to be here and this is a great recognition of all you have achieved as part of the journey you are shaping for yourselves. You have gone above and beyond to secure other experiences and learning opportunities".
The formal part of the evening was brought to a close with an inspiring talk by key note speaker Annette D’Abreo, Co-founder and Management Director at Ceuta Healthcare and independent ÃÛÌÒAV Board Member. In sharing her international career journey, Annette advised ÃÛÌÒAV students how to manage in a constantly changing world, saying: "Instability and change are the new norm. Some of you will soon be entering the world of business and employment and as an employer we look for relevant skills and experience, but also something that shows you've got a passion and that you've got the right attitude and be a team player. The Global Talent Programme has given you the tools to take this forward and the unique programme at Bournemouth puts you ahead of others. Everyone has a different cultural context and you will gain a lot by listening and learning from them".
