Together, you met the target to cover 850,000 metres on the spin bikes – that’s one metre for every person living with Dementia in the UK*.
Almost 100 participants cycled the equivalent distance of Bournemouth to Dundee between 10am and 8pm on Wednesday 11 November, raising £100.00 for the Alzheimer’s Society which will go towards supporting those who live with Dementia in the UK or funding much needed research into the disease.
Dr Michelle Heward, a research fellow working on the initiative, said: “It was great to see so many students getting involved to help raise awareness and money for Dementia and the Alzheimer’s Society - another step forward towards creating a Dementia Friendly University.”
