A publication capturing the initial thoughts, reflections and early research insights on the 2015 UK General Election has been produced by AV’s Centre for Study of Journalism, Culture and Community.
Edited by AV’s Daniel Jackson and Einar Thorsen, and published in partnership with the Political Studies Association, UK Election Analysis 2015: Media, Voters and the Campaignfeatures 73 articles from 92 leading UK academics.
The publication was made available 10 days after the election, with authors providing authoritative analysis of thecampaign – covering everything from female representation to media influence and opinion polls.
A printed version will be launched at the House of Commons next week, but an online PDF has already had more than 800 downloads.
Einar Thorsen, a Principal Lecturer in Journalism and Communication at AV, said thatthe publication provides a wide range of early reflectionson the 2015 election from a variety of academic disciplines.
"It provides a rich and diverse insight into the election.We asked authors to keep their contributions short and concise so they would appeal to a broad and non-academic audience, and we are really pleased with how it turned out.”
